MUDr. Jiří Záhlava, CSc. head of the Eye Department
We would like to introduce you to the new Head of the Eye Department of the Hospital Na Homolce, MUDr. Jiří Záhlava, CSc., who was appointed as of 1 January 2023.
Dr. Záhlava worked at the Eye Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the General University Hospital in Prague from 1995 to 2000. There he focused on corneal and orbital diseases and neuro-ophthalmology. Subsequently, he moved to the Eye Clinic of JL, where he worked until 2021, specializing mainly in diseases of the posterior segment of the eye. He joined the Hospital Na Homolce after a year in the Eye Department of Thomayer Hospital.
In surgery, MUDr. Záhlava specializes in plastic surgery of the eyelids and their surroundings for both medical and aesthetic reasons.
As an author or co-author, he has published a number of scientific papers and contributed to four books intended for postgraduate medical education.
