We are entering 2026 as a new institution, Motol and Homolka University Hospitals. Our priority is to maintain the high quality of healthcare provided by both medical facilities and to further develop it in line with leading European medical complexes and scientific centers.
Motol University Hospital and Na Homolce Hospital will officially merge into a single healthcare complex on January 1, 2026.
The newly formed organization will operate under the joint domain FNMH and will bear the official name Motol and Homolka University Hospital, with its registered office at V Úvalu 84/1, 150 00 Prague 5, ID No.: 00064203. The merger took place on the basis of a decision by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic dated October 10, 2025, ref. no. MZDR 22882/2025-3/OPŘ.
The aim of this step is to link the two hospitals in order to strengthen their cooperation, share expertise and management, and make more efficient use of capacity. The two institutions are close both professionally and geographically. Their link will also facilitate the provision of healthcare services, including the operation of the oncology center. The result will be a strong and modern healthcare complex that will be comparable in quality to leading European university centers and will contribute to the further development of Czech healthcare. The National Oncology Center will become the link between the entire unified complex, and its construction and development will be a long-term strategic project. The center will combine the expertise of both facilities and enable the most modern diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the field of oncology to be offered to patients. Daily operations for patients and employees will continue without any major changes. The provision of healthcare will not be interrupted in any way and will continue to the extent necessary, with an emphasis on maintaining its comprehensiveness. The priority of the joint organization of Motol University Hospital and Homolka is to maintain and further develop the high quality of healthcare, which both healthcare entities have long been focused on.
