We inaugurated a new dialysis centre

Patients with kidney disease have a new dialysis centre and a nephrology outpatient clinic on the premises of the Na Homolce Hospital.

The modern medical facility, operated by B. Braun Avitum since 2008, increases medical comfort for patients and is more environmentally friendly thanks to the technology of dialysis concentrate production. Both departments are using the centre to its maximum potential, and it was the high number of patients that necessitated the space modifications and modernisation.

The new dialysis facilities are located in the chronic wing of the hospital, where the centre has moved from its original location in the acute wing, where a project to expand the Cardiac Centre is already underway. "The relocation of the dialysis centre for the Na Homolce Hospital marks the preliminary stage of a significant modernisation and expansion of the Cardiocentre. Given the high number of patients we treat in our cardiac programme, we also need a better base. We have invested heavily in technology and the vacated premises will help us to further improve the quality of care provided," said Petr Polouček, M.D., MBA, Director of the Hospital Na Homolce, at the opening ceremony.

Dialysis stations are equipped with oxygen distribution, dialysis concentrate distribution and a patient-nurse communication system. The facility is able to provide care to both chronic and acute patients and cooperates intensively with the Na Homolce Hospital, which further increases the quality of care provided.   The capacity of the dialysis room has increased from the original 12 to 15 chairs thanks to the modernisation. This minimizes night shifts, which are demanding for patients and staff. The new centre provides patients with a clean, modern environment and greater comfort during treatment. "First of all, I would like to thank the Na Homolce Hospital for its extremely constructive approach and prompt solution of all problems. I would also like to thank our employees, who played a big part in the management of the dialysis operation during the reconstruction and the subsequent successful relocation," concludes the management of Group B. Braun Petr Macoun.
