In mid-1990s, the Na Homolce Hospital set its vision and established a clear strategy of development. Its aim was to create a first-class facility as part of the Czech public health system which would be in high demand. Efforts to provide high-quality professional services were complemented by the aim of achieving highly comprehensive specialized programs.

I take great pride in announcing that we have been successful in implementing this strategy. Using our own investments and with only a minor state subsidy, a functional health care facility has recently been created which disposes of medical devices, materials and professional teams, comparable with those in first-class facilities in Europe and the USA, which are capable of further development in selected directions, i.e. they provide acute and highly-specialized care to patients with neurological-neurosurgical and cardiovascular diseases from the entire Czech Republic and offer basic medical procedures of high standard. Without dispute, the success of this process is attributable to all the employees of the hospital, in particular to the management headed by long-term director MUDr. Oldřich Šubrt.

The mission of our hospital as we defined it is to become one of the most advanced specialized hospitals in Europe. Thanks to the high concentration of its state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment, as well as high-quality teams, the hospital is in fact becoming a unique center dealing with all the issues related to diseases caused by atherosclerosis, both in the area of peripheral vessels, the heart or the brain, in a comprehensive method. In addition, the complexity of care in neurology, neurosurgery, back surgery and other subspecialties related to clinical neurosciences predetermine the Na Homolce Hospital to become a leader in this particular area in Central Europe. We are ready to implement the newest methods of genetics and robotics and to introduce other new procedures and technologies in the area of minimally invasive treatment methods in the country.

The basic objective of the Na Homolce Hospital is to provide high-quality specialized care tailored to the needs of our clients in a cost-effective manner. I believe that we have recently done a lot to achieve this goal. However, we should further pursue key processes in the development of the hospital and its services, i.e. strengthening of our professional teams, further advances in accreditation and certification processes, standardization of diagnostic and treatment methods, as well as analysis and follow-up changes in our activities and processes customized to the needs and wishes of our patients, at least until the end of this decade.
We believe that meeting the needs of our clients (patients and referring physicians) and providing high-quality services in a cost-effective manner with a view of making specialized care available to the vast majority of patients are the basic challenges of modern health care.
